We treat patients with vascular prosthesis infections with long-term antibiotic therapy. The type of antibiotic therapy depends on the microbiological diagnosis. As a rule, patients receive iv antibiotic therapy for six weeks, followed by oral follow-up therapy. The duration of antibiotic therapy is determined by PET/CT.
At the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and Hospital Hygiene, two research groups are running projects with the topic of prosthesis infections or osteomyelitis.
