Tuberculosis remains one of the most infectious diseases world wide. The main focus of our group is the host response during infection and disease with Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). We use a wide range of different biological read outs to investigate MTB infection phenotypes. By integrating systems biology-based high throughput approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics) with clinically important phenotypes, we aim to develop novel diagnostic approaches and to identify targets for antibiotic- independent, host directed therapies.
