Specialist training in the Department of Traumatology

The Department of Traumatology covers the whole spectrum of accident surgery knowledge required by specialists in orthopaedics and traumatology of the musculoskeletal system and surgeons specialising in general and accident surgery.

Before qualifying as specialists, doctors in the Department of Traumatology are required to pass through various rotations. In each of these, they acquire knowledge and skills relating to a specific area (upper extremity, lower extremity/polytrauma, acute traumatology, spine/pelvis, sport/hips/knees, geriatric traumatology).

In the operating theatre, they are required to work through an extensive list of surgical procedures. Our junior doctors learn and consolidate their surgical skills under the observation of experienced supervisors.

  • Outpatient consultations (Health Centre The Circle at USZ Flughafen)
  • Special consultations (Süd2A USZ Campus)
