Department of Aging Medicine

The Department of Aging Medicine at University Hospital Zurich offers detailed health assessments and personalized treatments for older adults, both, in an outpatient and inpatient setting. All care concepts are linked to state-of-the-art scientific evidence and innovation – from prevention to treatment of complex age-related diseases.

In the inpatient setting, the Department of Aging Medicine specializes in the treatment of older adults undergoing specialized treatments at the University Hospital Zurich.

We work in close collaboration with

Traumatology,
Neuro-Surgery,
Cardiology,
Heart Surgery,
Oncology,
Rheumatology,
General Internal
and Emergency Medicine.

In our interdisciplinary acute care concept, patients have the advantage of specialist care in combination with comprehensive aging medicine care plus early rehabilitation. This ensures rapid functional recovery of patients age 65 years and older, and is achieved in a specialist team of doctors, nurses and therapists.

In the outpatient setting, we have several clinics addressing adult health care needs from

prevention to treatment of age-related chronic diseases
including a personalized assessment of physical and cognitive function, as well as nutritional needs
a complete health check-up

In our outpatient clinic, we collaborate closely with all specialty fields of medicine at the University Hospital and your family doctor. Our outpatient clinics include

general aging medicine,
fall and fracture prevention,
frailty assessment and treatment,
dementia screening,
healthy & active aging check-up addressing adults age 50 years and older.
