Institute of Anaesthesiology

Our institute specializes in the provision of anaesthesia and perioperative care, intensive care of critically ill patients, resuscitation, preclinical emergency physician service, and the treatment of acute and chronic pain. We strive to improve our performance continuously by the involvement in outstanding clinical and experimental research, and by providing advanced training and continuous education.

Our department offers a broad range of specialties: not only do we provide anaesthesia for our regular program; we also have a specialized and experienced pediatric anaesthesia-team, a transplant-team, pre-hospital emergency physicians as well as a designated group of anesthetists who provide fetal anaesthesia for unborn babies. We provide high quality anaesthesia and recovery care in a multi-professional, diverse and demanding work environment. Professional competence and long standing work experience are key factors of our success. We practice in interdisciplinary anaesthesia care teams, composed of nurses and physicians.
