We are experts in the field of immunology with a focus on immunodeficiencies, autoimmunity and the use of biologics. Our immunological diagnosis laboratories aboratories work in the fields of allergology, autoimmune disorders, immuno-deficiencies, HIV and hepatitis.

The Department of Immunology at University Hospital Zurich (USZ) is an academic center of excellence in immunology. We are experts in all aspects of clinical immunology, including systemic autoimmune diseases, autoinflammatory disorders, fever of unknown origin, sarcoidosis, and immunodeficiencies. Particular areas of expertise comprise sarcoidosis, hereditary angioedema, Sjögren’s disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), with the Department of Immunology being part of the Swiss SLE cohort. Further areas of expertise include the use of biologicals in autoimmune and allergic disorders.

Our specialized diagnostic laboratories provide state-of-the-art analyses in transplantation immunology, immunoglobulin E (IgE) allergy tests, immunological tests for immune profiling, and immuno-virologic tests, including for hepatitis viruses, HIV, and HTLV. Moreover, we offer cutting-edge tests, such as cytokine measurements in different body fluids as well as measurement of anti-drug antibodies along with targeted cytokine levels for several biologicals.
