Care of the transplanted patient

Transplanted patients pose a major challenge for both prevention as well as diagnosis and treatment of infectious complications, as they are more vulnerable due to the immunosuppression.

All patients are evaluated pre-transplant for their vaccination status and infectious diseases history. Regular visits of newly transplanted patients provide continuous patient care. The interdisciplinary developed internal “Transplant Guidelines” form the basis for the prevention and therapy of a variety of possible opportunistic infections. Patients with infectious episodes are closely followed by our consultation service.

The transplant center ensures interdisciplinary collaboration for all cross-sectional activities and continuous exchange for all relevant issues.
