Continuous measurement of brain oxygenation, haemodynamics and brain function in preterm infants using near-infrared spectroscopy. The overall aim is to optimize intensive care in preterm infants including cerebral monitoring with NIRS as part of the clinical management and to study brain development which are the keys to reduce mortality and morbidity in this vulnerable and high-risk population.
