With more than 100,000 treatments administered over the past decade, this light-activated antimicrobial treatment rapidly and painlessly eradicates bacteria, viruses and fungi in the nose without generating microbial resistance. With the onset and escalation of the COVID-pandemic, Ondine Biomedical, the creator of Steriwave and others began studying the potential for its nasal photodisinfection to help. Results from one year of in vitro and in vivo studies of photodisinfection will be discussed.
